About Michelle
Michelle Schlitter (Cooper), is a Learning and Development Specialist currently working for Centacare Community Services, a not for profit organisation servicing the Aged Care, Disability and Mental Health sectors. Michelle’s learning and development experience was established in an earlier role during her tenure with Queensland Police Service at Policelink and the Police Assistance Centre.
A dedicated wife to Bruce Cooper, a former Queensland and NSW Police Officer, Michelle’s life was turned upside down when Bruce took his own life on April 21st 2018, having lived with diagnosed mental health issues, including Post Traumatic Stress.
Michelle is now challenging the silence around mental health and suicide by sharing their story and placing it firmly in the spotlight of public awareness. Michelle is committed to supporting the family and friends of current and former police officers through her role with Blue Hope.
